the players

The Hot Club of Nashville is led by one of the world's foremost finger-style guitarists, Richard Smith. A former child protege of Chet Atkins, Richard tours the US and Europe as a soloist and joins wife, cellist Julie Adams, for classical and eclectic concerts. Richard is a guitar virtuoso in many styles, and the Hot Club setting allows audiences to hear his marvelous improvisational skills.

It has long been a truism that the very finest musicians are the recording session players in Nashville. The balance of The Hot Club of Nashville is comprised of the most in-demand among them. Individually, they have recorded and/or toured with such varied artists as Lyle Lovett, Alison Krauss, Barbra Streisand, Pam Tillis, Bill Evans, Randy Travis, Peter Frampton, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed and scores of other jazz, country and pop musicians.

Guitarist Pat Bergeson's smooth jazz/blues style is complemented by his hard swinging "Hot Club" solos. A former member of Lyle Lovett's Large Band, Pat is also one of the best harmonica players in the business, a sound not to be missed!

Fiddler Stuart Duncan won the 2005 Instrumental Performer of the Year award from The International Bluegrass Association and will be appearing fresh off a world-wide tour as the featured fiddler for Alison Krauss/Robert Plant's Raising Sand concerts. In the Hot Club ensemble, Stuart shows a flair for combining the elements of jazz violin and bluegrass fiddle- creating an exciting sound.

Holding the ensemble together on acoustic bass is Charlie Chadwick, one of Nashville's finest! Charlie is very active in the recording industry playing all styles of bass as well as being a top rated sound and recording engineer.
